The Sacrament of Baptism forgives sin and welcomes the child into the Body of Christ and the life of the Church. Because faith is essential to baptism, parents and godparents promise to raise the child in the Catholic faith until they can embrace it themselves.
At St. James, we ask parents to call the parish office at least three months before the desired baptism date to begin preparation and scheduling. Baptism is a sacred responsibility and a beautiful blessing for the child, parents, and godparents alike.
